What is Graphic Design?
Graphic design is a reconciliation of space, ideas, and form. It’s an endeavor of creation, where we (the designer) strive to perplex, excite, invigorate, and persuade those interacting with the work (the audience). Unfortunately, this persuasive act can exist mindlessly in the empty (yet profitable) world of consumption, and graphic design can simply become an automatic blur of clients, deadlines, and beautiful recyclables. Fortunately, designers strive to rise above this and not get lost in the tangibles that collect dust. Graphic design is the stories, concepts, and images that change the way people think, live, and interact with culture, society, the planet, and each other.
